After lurking around certian boards (cough aliasboards.com cough), I have come to notice that some aren't pleased that Sydney and Vaughn have hooked up so soon. True they just recently shared their first kiss and are now sharing beds, I think they fail to leave out that the Sydney and Vaughn relationship has been going for 2 years.
Though their relationship is a bit out of the norm, you can't deny the fact that they have been interacting and have been spending enough time with each other for feelings to develop. Of course none of these feelings could be shown, and had to be surpressed most of the time. And sure enough when you keep some feeling hidden deep inside, it's bound to explode one way or another. I think we saw this when Vaughn just had to express his feelings for Sydney when he pulled her aside before the meeting.
Some also think that now this love that had been building between Sydney and Vaughn had been mistaken for lust, since they rushed into everything too soon. Now if I had to wait two years before I could kiss a guy that I liked, I would be kissing him like that too at the first chance I got. I think the fact that Sydney and Vaughn did sleep together at the first chance they got was an expression of the passion each had for each other.
Longing for someone that long, yet not being able to show one's true feelings. Not because you were scared, but because your life and the person's life depended on it. Now they were free to love openly, and they did. Lust..possibly but not likely... Love..oh yeah... But still, time can only really tell. After all, lust fades - but love doesn't.
